From My Grandmother’s Kitchen

The poundcakes at Peacock Garden are made from a family recipe that has been passed down for generations. My grandmother learned to make this cake from her own grandmother making it part of our family for more than 100 years.

This photo was taken in 1979 in my grandmother’s kitchen while I was learning to cook beside her. Those moments in the kitchen are where my love for baking began.

Today, I still use the same recipe for every poundcake baked at Peacock Garden - one small batch at a time.
